Day 17 – Literal Lyrics

Greetings Insanely Normal fans ūüėÄ

I struggled with finding a title for this post, but I chose one that I thought would best suit what I was trying to do.  Only I am going to do it with song lyrics.

First on my playlist is ‘Paparazzi’ by Lady Gaga

Lyrics:”I’m your biggest fan, I’ll follow you until you love me. ¬†Papa-paparazzi…
“Reality:”I’m your biggest stalker, I’m going to follow you until you have to get a restraining order on me.”

Next on my list is the lovely Leona Lewis, with ‘Bleeding Love’.

“My heart’s crippled by the vein that I keep on closing, you cut me open and I, keep bleeding…”

  1. If you keep bleeding, you should really get that checked out because you might be suffering with Hemophilia.
  2. If you keep letting him cut you to begin with, then damn girl, you really should get out of that relationship!

Third on my list is this 80’s classic by Sinitta. ¬†This is called ‘Toy Boy’

“Everybody’s talking when they see me walking¬†with this little boy of mine. ¬†He’s my play thing and I love him. ¬†I dress him up looking fine. ¬†He ain’t got money,¬†people think it’s funny,¬†he gives me everything I need… ¬†He’s my playboy and my love toy and I want everyone to know: ¬†He’s my toy boy…”

“I’m a paedophile!!!!”

Next..! ¬†This is Sam and the Womp with ‘Bom Bom’

“I have 16 pints of rum and then I go Bom Bom!”

“I have to go to the hospital immediately to get my stomach pumped”

“I’ve got a pie in my pocket, pie in my pocket, an eye in my socket.”

Why on earth would you have a pie in your pocket? ¬†Furthermore, if you didn’t have an eye in your socket, I would be a little worried.

“Me got life, Me got style, Me got nothing on my mind.”

You really need grammatical education…

I think I’m going to start keeping a notebook of literal lyrics that I hear, and I will keep adding to this post (in a sense, i.e. part 1, part 2, etc.). ¬†I think I’ve started on something here…

Day 5 – If music be the food of love…

For the past few days, I’ve been in a real ‘dancey’ mood. ¬†I’ve had my music playing loudly from the car, and when I’m at home, it’s been playing through my laptop, or blaring out from the TV via xbox stream. ¬†All I want to do is get up and dance, but I’ve not danced properly for many years.

I am a fan of many different types of music.

I enjoy listening to classical music, and not just for relaxation either. ¬†I am a huge fan of Tchaikovskys’ 1812 Overture, and Offenbachs’ Orpheus in the Underworld suite. ¬†There are so many lively pieces that I enjoy listening to, and a lot are film scores, such as the Lord of the Rings Suite, or the Harry Potter theme, ha ha. ¬†Then we move in to my favourite… ¬†‘Clair de Lune’ by Debussy is such beautiful music. ¬†This was the piece that my dad walked me down the aisle to.

I love classic rock, from the 70’s and 80’s. ¬†The likes of ACDC, Genesis, Focus, Bon Jovi…

I love a lot of music from the 60’s, 70’s and 90’s… ¬†I’m an 80’s child, so cheesy 80’s music is high on my list. ¬†In fact, I have to say that in most cases, I would prefer to listen to 80’s pop than some of the ‘noise’ that is out today. ¬†Don’t get me wrong, I do enjoy some songs that are out today…

To give you a bit of an idea, I do like some of Lady Gagas’ more popular hits (Poker Face, Bad Romance, Telephone, Just Dance, Love Game); I like ‘Party Rock Anthem’ and ‘Sexy and I Know It’ by LMFAO; ¬†I’m ashamed to say that I like ‘What Makes You Beautiful’ by One Direction (the only one I do like from them); I like a lot by Katy Perry… ¬†At the moment I have two songs that I keep pressing the ‘repeat’ button on. ¬†One is the new Lily Allen song, called ‘Air Balloon’, which I have been so kind to include here so you can listen away… ¬†Please ignore the absolutely horrific video that goes with it!

And the other song that I am loving at the moment is called ‘Brave’ by Sara Bareilles. ¬†I’ve also included the video here:

Let’s change direction again… ¬†I also enjoy listening to Scottish folk music. ¬†Listening to the Highland Bagpipes literally gives me goose bumps (in a good way), and I can actually play. ¬†It’s a major passion of mine. ¬†For the Scottish folk bands, I like Capercaillie, the Vatersay Boys, Runrig, Skerryvore and the Red Hot Chilli Pipers. ¬†I’m also a huge fan of the Scots Dragoon Guards, and the Black Watch pipe band.

I have been to the Edinburgh Royal Military Tattoo only twice, and I would practically kill to go again… ¬†Ok, let’s not get carried away there, but I think the point is there.

I think that the only type of music that I can honestly put my hands up and say, “I don’t like it”, is those ‘screaming’ metal bands, if you know what I mean.

Music is very important. ¬†There is too much TV, and gaming, going on at the moment, and I don’t think that it is right that music is being pushed to one side.

This post has been written, with love, whilst the TV has been on in the background… ¬†With the music channel on ‚̧
